Problem
Solution
Workaround
- From the Task Manager, select command line from the View menu.
- Select Columns. (This will help you to determine the msiexec.exe processes that need to be stopped.)
- Start the silent install.
- Check Mcafee_Common_Install_xxxxxxxx.log for details about the install process.

========================================================================= - If the install is stuck and you see the events shown in step 4, terminate the msiexec.exe processes. (See the attached screen shot for an example.)
- Delete the following msiexec.exe processes:
- C:\Windows\system32\MsiExec.exe-Embedding 818C5E8E6016307EA89139D9400EBB76
- C:\Windows\system64\MsiExec.exe-Embedding D9115FC02445019FE182B203A715B399
After you delete the processes, the installation will proceed.
