Problem:
‘BESSERVER’ agent 1: will not restart – reached the maximum of 10 restarts per 24 hours, next restart on “DATE” i.e. Tue Aug 20 05:52:02 2013
Solution:
Steps to apply the update:
1) Stop the BlackBerry Dispatcher service from the Microsoft Windows Services MMC.
2) Navigate to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express installation directory.
3) Create a directory for the original files outside of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express installation directory.
- BlackBerryAgent.exe
- CalHelper.exe
- CalHelperWS.exe
- EWS.dll
4) Copy the following files to the directory that was created in Step 3 from the ESRQ00010110.zip file. (editor’s note, I had to split the file into 2 archives, get ESRQ00010110.part1 and ESRQ00010110.part2 here):
- BlackBerryAgent.exe
- CalHelper.exe
- CalHelperWS.exe
- EWS.dll
5) Manually register EWS.dll:
- Open a command prompt and change to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server directory (for example, “C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server”)
Note: Right-click Command Prompt, and Run as administrator). - Enter the following commands:
“C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\regasm” /tlb ews.dll
CalHelperWS /regserver
6) Start the BlackBerry Dispatcher service from the Microsoft Windows Services MMC.
