{"id":574,"date":"2025-06-20T11:58:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T11:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.torontohelpdesk.ca\/blog\/?p=574"},"modified":"2025-10-06T15:24:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T15:24:00","slug":"bit-titan-migration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.torontohelpdesk.ca\/blog\/bit-titan-migration\/","title":{"rendered":"Bit Titan Migration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Problem: <\/strong>Migrating to and\/or from Microsoft<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Don&#8217;t use a Global Admin account when setting up the BitTitan part, use a service account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The service account should have a mailbox, Global Reader permissions and NO MFA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn off MFA for the entire account if need be, follow instructions from: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.torontohelpdesk.ca\/blog\/office-365-mfa-is-turned-off-yet-it-still-prompts-for-it\/\">https:\/\/www.torontohelpdesk.ca\/blog\/office-365-mfa-is-turned-off-yet-it-still-prompts-for-it\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you get an error: your migration failed while checking destination credentials. One or more errors occurred\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bittitan.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/27481872521115-M365-Mailbox-and-Archive-Migrations-Performing-Migration-using-only-API-permissions#h_01J32YXTKMC07Q7YZD218GRMGX\">https:\/\/help.bittitan.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/27481872521115-M365-Mailbox-and-Archive-Migrations-Performing-Migration-using-only-API-permissions#h_01J32YXTKMC07Q7YZD218GRMGX<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delete the client secret (for the app)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a new client secret <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure you copy the Value and not the Secret ID<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait 20 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Update<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The destination only needs to have MFA turned off.<br>1. If the end user has Premium licensing<br>2. Go to Entra<br>3. Click on Properties<br>4. Scroll to the bottom and disabled Security Defaults<br>5. One of the options is to enable Conditional Policies, enable that<br>6.
