This seemed to have happened after an SSL was installed. Also, ActiveSync was acting all dinky.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/?kbid=883380\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/?kbid=883380<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I used solution 2. I found that I had to wait a few minutes for the Virtual Websites to reappear.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"tocHeadRef\">Method 2: Use Adsutil.vbs<\/h3>\n<p><a> To use Adsutil.vbs, follow these steps:<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"CIP_m2\" style=\"display: block;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Back up your IIS Metabase. To do this, follow these steps:\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Start IIS Manager.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Right-click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Default Web Site<\/strong>, point to <strong class=\"uiterm\">All Tasks<\/strong>, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Save Configuration to a File<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Delete the virtual directories for Outlook Web Access. To do this, right-click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Exadmin<\/strong> in the navigation pane of IIS Manager, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Delete<\/strong>. Click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Yes<\/strong> when you are prompted with the question of whether you want to delete this item.\n<p>Repeat this step for the following virtual directories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exchange<\/li>\n<li>ExchWeb<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync<\/li>\n<li>OMA<\/li>\n<li>Public<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Close IIS Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start<\/strong>, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Run<\/strong>, type <span class=\"userInput\">cmd<\/span>, and then press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>Change to the following folder. In this example, <var>Drive<\/var> is the hard disk drive where Windows is installed:\n<div class=\"indent\"><var>Drive<\/var>:\\inetpub\\adminscripts<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Type <span class=\"userInput\">adsutil<\/span>, and then press Enter.\n<div class=\"kb_nowrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"graphic\" title=\"2684263\" src=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/Library\/Images\/2684263.jpg\" alt=\"2684263\" \/><\/div>\n<p><b>Important<\/b> By default, CScript is not the default scripting host for Windows Server 2003. To run the <b>adsutil<\/b> command, CScript must be configured as the default scripting host. To do this, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Yes<\/strong> if you are prompted to register CScript as you default host for VBscript, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kb_nowrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"graphic\" title=\"2683283\" src=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/Library\/Images\/2683283.jpg\" alt=\"2683283\" \/><\/div>\n<p><b>Note<\/b> If you receive a list of adsutil command options, CScript is already configured as the default scripting host for VBscript.<\/li>\n<li>Type <span class=\"userInput\">adsutil delete ds2mb<\/span>, and then press Enter.\n<div class=\"kb_nowrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"graphic\" title=\"2683283\" src=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/Library\/Images\/2683283.jpg\" alt=\"2683283\" \/><\/div>\n<p><b>Note<\/b> To set the default scripting host to WScript, type <span class=\"userInput\">WScript \/\/H:WScript<\/span>\u00a0at the command prompt, press Enter, and then click\u00a0<strong class=\"uiterm\">OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start<\/strong>, point to <strong class=\"uiterm\">All Programs<\/strong>, point to <strong class=\"uiterm\">Administrative Tools<\/strong>, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Services<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To restart the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service, follow these steps:\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start<\/strong>, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Run<\/strong>, type <span class=\"userInput\">services.msc<\/span>, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Right-click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Microsoft Exchange System Attendant<\/strong>, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Restart<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">When you are prompted to restart the dependent Exchange Server services, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Yes<\/strong>.\n<div class=\"kb_nowrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"graphic\" title=\"2683283\" src=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/Library\/Images\/2683283.jpg\" alt=\"2683283\" \/><\/div>\n<p><b>Note<\/b>When you restart the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is also restarted. In this scenario, your Exchange Server users lose connectivity to their Exchange Server mailboxes.<\/p>\n<p>The virtual directories are re-created. To verify that the virtual directories are re-created, start IIS Manager, and then view the Default Web site folder.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kb_nowrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"graphic\" title=\"2684263\" src=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/Library\/Images\/2684263.jpg\" alt=\"2684263\" \/><\/div>\n<p><b>Important<\/b> If the virtual directories are not re-created after 15 minutes, restart the computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Reset the access permissions to Anonymous. To do this, follow these steps:\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Start IIS Manager, right-click <strong class=\"uiterm\">ExchWeb<\/strong>, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Properties<\/strong>, and then click the <strong class=\"uiterm\">Directory Security<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Under <strong class=\"uiterm\">Authentication and access control<\/strong> click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Edit<\/strong>, and then verify that the <strong class=\"uiterm\">Enable anonymous access<\/strong> check box is turned on.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Select the\u00a0<strong class=\"uiterm\">Integrated Windows authentication<\/strong> check box, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">OK<\/strong>, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Apply<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">If an <strong class=\"uiterm\">Inheritance Overrides<\/strong> dialog box appears, click <strong class=\"uiterm\"> Select All<\/strong>, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Under <strong class=\"uiterm\">Authentication and access control<\/strong>, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Edit<\/strong>, and then\u00a0clear the\u00a0<strong class=\"uiterm\">Integrated Windows authentication<\/strong> check box.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">Click <strong class=\"uiterm\">OK<\/strong> two times, and then close IIS Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Use a web browser to verify that you can connect to your Outlook Web Access server. If you are also running other mobility services, verify that you can connect to those services by using an appropriate client.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Problem: When loading Outlook Web Access, you get an error 500.
